repairing fiberglass.help
i have a fiberglass spoon lip on my car that has a crack going down the center. the crack isnt too large or noticable although the fiberglass is visible and it looks bad. is there anyway i can repair this without going to a body shop and spending $150 bucks? here is a picture
Need a better pic to tell for sure, but all you need is some fiber-all, some bondo and prolly a little spot putty to fix it up to like new. Reinforce the back of the crack with Fiber-All, then fill the crack with bondo. You may or may not need the spot putty if you can get the bondo smooth enough.
I had a hole in my bumper and I repaired it but grinded the dents and parts that weren't flat down like a 1/4 of an inch with a dremel tool. I dug into the plastic quite a bit, then used a plastic filler to smooth it out and hold it all together and it has been working great.
So maybe try reinforcing the back like someone else told you and dig down a hair to really bond it back together. I hav ea feeling if you cover the surface of it, it will just crack again.
