Default Need help with B18A conversion

Hello

I am converting my buddy's 1990 CRX HF (with unknown engine D16 maybe?) to a B18A recipient. I am taking the B18A from a 1990 Integra GS, and it needs to be overhauled, but that is of no concern right now. Main issue is this: I am taking the engine out, and am not sure if I have to take out the wiring harness along with the engine. Both motors are MPFI, and the current engine he has includes upgraded fuel rails. Do I have to take the main fuse box and the wiring harness with it? I already took out the ECU and the fuel injection wiring, but do not want to go too far if I do not have to.

Thanks

Nate

You do not need the integra wiring harness. You put the crx harness on the b18a. You will most likely have to extend some wires but this is the easier of the two options.

Thanks! That will make it a lot easier. BTW, while I am stripping the Integra, does anyone need parts? I am stripping all the engine/tranny parts, but I can get most other things I have not already destroyed in the process.

Just wait 2 weeks, and post that you're parting it out in the classifieds. Good luck with the swap.

Yeah dude, Just drop the motor into the Crx and plug and play. The Hf harness will take care of it. I think the only thing YOU have to do is, Extended the wriing to the Ecu from: The KS, the o2, The vtec selenoid, The oil pressure, and b/c it's the b18 the IAB or whatever it is, the butterfly thing...there's a diagram floating around here with the pinouts for this stuff.

Yeah, no VTEC. That's my dad's '94 GSR.

We just finished pulling out the B18A1 engine from the donor car. It will not be missed, as it has gone through the family a few times.....

Now just a little more, I think I am going to have to take out the clutch cable, as the HF and GS clutch cable mounts are different. Anyone ever used the same one? I see no way of removing the end to install a new mount.

So far, a total of roughly 20 hours, quite a bit of those screwing with the dash to remove the un-needed wiring harness... doh. Not to mention we took the head and intake off before the block and transmission.

Definately a learning experience, and easier than my only other engine pull, the 1.9 DOHC '92 Saturn SC2 overhaul a few years ago....

One of these days I will post my buddy's CRX... and MY 2004 MINI Cooper S.

I am using an integra clutch cable with my swap.
