Default EXPO 5: Northwest Caravan PART II UPDATED

For those who are going, we are 3 1/2 weeks away from Expo. I would like to get a decent idea of all of those who are going from the Pacific Northwest, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.

Since most of us are planning on showing up in Iowa at the track on Friday, the intinerary set below is pretty solid. I am merely looking for the names of those going, who is riding with who and what area your coming from/jumping into the caravan.

For those of you in Idaho, Montana and Wyoming, check out the directions I have linked to Mapquest and decide where you would like to be waiting as we drive through your area. Rest stops and gas stations directly off the highway is definately preferable. Please give specific names and mile markers. All I ask is that you're on time. We are trying to do this drive (from Seattle) in two days.

If you have CB radios, police scanners, radar detectors, cell phones....anything for communication... by all means please bring them.

I'll update this first post as people leave their names and information/locations.

SEATTLE
1) Haleiwa-Brando - Brandon
2) White Rocket - Chris
3) Quick 6 - Chris

SPOKANE
1) 98DC2R - Chris

At any time you feel the need to break away from the group, by all means go for it Your not obligated to drive with anyone. Though the camping will be fun.

So, what's the situation here?

With Brandon not going, we need to organize this thing fast. We're only a week away, and I don't think we've set anything up yet.

I have two Valentine1's and five Motorollas 2-way radios w/5mile range. I have one valentine in my car, someone can claim the other one (first person to reply about it).

We need to set up a standard channel for the Expo Caravans that might want to meet up, so they can be on the same channel when they(if) they meet us. (2-way's). How about 14-4?

I like the provided Itinerary. It would be nice to have a whole day to prep.

For the ride home, I think I will leave monday morning early, and try to make it back by tuesday night.

How many people are present now?

Northwest Caravan:
SEATTLE
1) Haleiwa-Brando - Brandon
2) White Rocket - Chris
3) Quick 6 - Chris
4) 92TypeR - Marshall

SPOKANE
1) 98DC2R - Chris
2) Stealthycivicsi - Dan
3) Nwmotorsports - Jason

BTW here is a sneek peak at whats sleeping under my hood now

LETS GET THIS SHOW ON THE ROAD!

So, Brandon is going? I thought he put up his Expo spot for sale, because he couldn't get the car finished up in time?

Also, it's not nice to totally leave me off that list! If you guys don't want me to go, then I wont.

I also like the return trip plans. I'd like to leave early Monday morning, and arrive in Seattle by Tuesday evening.

I'm getting amped for this. It's going to be some crazy driving. Hope I don't have any problems with the AE86. lol.

I will have to drive back via Fargo, which is only an extra ~150 miles or so based on my calculations. But that means I'll be flying solo on that route. heh. I'll be leaving Monday morning from there as well. I MUST be back in Seattle by Tuesday night.

Still lots of prep to do.

Cool with me. With the way the AE86 is geared I won't be doing any high-speed runs.

You can be bait for the po-pos. I already got my share of tickets in MT and ND at the beginning of the month.

I'm not looking forward to the drive with the ATS FD, but what can you do. ~5000rpms at 80mph will have to work.

Deal.

Anyways, lets plan on keeping the same schedule (or close to it) from what Brandon posted. The drive home will be similar, and it seems most ppl want to leave monday morning, so we'll do the finalizing of the trip home probably from the Expo.

Sounds like a plan. So, unless something changes, let's plan on meeting at the Issaquah Krispy Kreme around 7:30am, and depart no later than 8am.

Let's also coordinate with the Spokane folks, we will probably meet up with them around 1pm or so.

Quick6, do you have my tool we used to loosen the rotors? Be sure to bring that with you, as I will have to replace the fronts at the Expo.

It's 4 hours or less to Spokane, so we should be there by noon and plan to leave at 12:30. We can meet at the Krispy Kreme on the E. side of Spokane...

I'll bring it for you and you can hang onto it.

Well folks it looks like I won't be going. Some personal stuff has come up that takes precedence. You guys have a good time.

It makes 2 of us from WA who will not be attending, mine is also due to personal reasons. I have to call by tomorrow and cancel the hotel reservation. I apologize for this last minute change, but I was 100% committed to going, and I simply can't do it now.

Looks like I spoke too soon. Penpen sat me down last night and convinced me that I needed to go... personal issues be damned.

See you guys at Krispy Kreme. Sorry for being so wishy washy.
-Chris ...slightly embarrassed.
