My timing belt skipped a tooth on the exhaust cam of my dohc zc.... I figure it was due to a faulty belt tensioner.. but i'm not sure. Has this happened to anybody else? And does anybody know what part number or from which car is the tensioner compatible with? Thanks!
I think someone just recently posted that it is the same as a 1.5l hf motor. I couldn't find the post though. Try that. I'd guess its the same as at least the old D series motors.

My only complaint on http://www.markl.force9.co.uk/howto/...iming-belt.htm is that the picture of the crank sprocket with the arrow is a sideways picture, so it makes it look like the crank sprocket should be 90 degrees left of where it should actually be. Also, note that in the below pic, that isn't the up arrows pointing up. The up is marked with the pink.
Great page, I just think those two pictures make it confusing if you're not paying close attention.

THe Tensioner IS the same as the 1.5 DPI in the '89 DX. I took mine off and to the dealer to match it up. I guess the HF has the same one. But the '89 DX DPI 1.5 does have the same identical one.
Quoted from my original post
"Heres another Part # for you, Visually comfirmed by myself and going on tonight. The Timing Belt Tensioner Honda Part # 14510-PM7-004 same as used on the '89 DX 1.5 and lots of others. THis can kill the Timing belt and motor just as quick as a water pump failure. "

I just replaced my timing belt today. My tensioner bolt was striped. I had to cut it off. In the process I removed some excess metal from the tensioner. I used my old tensioner from my d16. Its exactly the same.
