im planning on buying a skunk2 im and its single stage vs the oem gsr dual stage. my question is can i still use my aem comp gsr intake with the skunk2 im or would i have to buy a ls/t-r intake?
You actually have to modify the GSR intake a little bit in order for it to work. The GSR intake manifold is at a very different angle than the ITR/Skunk2 mani, so it is difficult to fit a GSR intake on there (especially if it's a CAI with bends that help it to fit perfectly into tight spaces).
The GSR intake piping is designed to bend downward a little bit to go into the lower GSR IM. The ITR/Blox/Skunk2 manifolds all sit higher than the GSR IM, so a GSR intake will have a bend that is not needed. I suppose you could cut that bend off and figure out a way to make it fit. Also, most LS intakes are 1/4 inch less in diameter than the corresponding ITR intakes, so it would be to your advantage to go with an ITR intake.
