Default rear springs loose from drop

I used H&R springs off a 2000 SI to drop my 91 DA. the spings fit, but when I put the car on a jack the rear springs get really loose. They move out of place and have enough space to go up and down. when I lower the car, the springs fit perfectly into place. is it supposed to be like that in the rear or how?

You'll be fine, my buddy just put springs onto his DA, and when he put the wheels back on the ground, the spring settled, you'll be fine.

Did you modify your top hats at all to take the larger diameter spring? It could be sitting on the rubber piece inside the top hat and not going fully into the top hat, which would cause it to drop out of place at full droop.

You could get some EK tophats to make up for it, but as long as the spring is going all the way into the top hats when the car is lowered down from the jack, you should be fine. You will never go to full droop when the car is on the road.

the tophats fit when the car is lowered. So basically, the weight of the car is compressing the spring.
