OK first....

Go to the junk yard...... D series will work....

And find the Sensor should be on the Tranny side of the block. It's a two prong sensor....hold on i gotta pic of the one i pulled

I found out very quickly you can't replace the sensor with the TPS sensor from the B16a2. The little nipple on the end of the sensor is too long. The tps from my d series was the exact length and thread count i needed for my b16a
hope it helps bro.

I KNOW its the ECT, All that **** up there isnt the ECT, the ECT is huge, took a 27mm deep well to get it out. I swaped it, and my rad fans still dont turn on, I also replaced the 2 sensors right under the Dizzy. I tested my gauge on my cluster, Grounding it. and it goes right up to H. so its not my cluster. Last thing that it could be is the Fan relay.

welp, I fixed it. No more CEL. Code 6 is the ECT. witch is by the oil filter. has a huge black cover over it with 2 wires. All it is, is a thermo switch, everyone thinking the ECT is on the head below the dizzy is wrong. it takes 27mm Deep well to get it out, and that ******* boot is a bitch.

Also, I tryed boiling it in water to test the switch. one. your stove isnt going to get that water hot enough to close that switch. I searched alot, and found no answers. I also DL'ed the Service manual. It doesnt tell you the size in it. If mods wana make this a sticky go for it.

I tested my cooling system by jumping the 2 wires on the ECT. I turned the key to the on postion. and jumped the wires. both fans kicked on. that means, The relay, wiring and fans work. no need to test each one.

pics soon.

Yes I know this topic is old but someone might search and find this.

That is not the the ECT sensor, that sensor on the back of the block is for the radiator fan. The ECT is on the head.

That would probably be why my radiator fan never worked. I got so tired of it I just wired it into a switch. Good information
