Default Got the new motor to the track tonight

well some of you saw the other posts about my engine bay being painted and at the NOPI show. well i got the car on the dyno last week and put down a mere 185.5/134 after 38 pulls. it was 38 because i was teaching myself hondata. that was really cool. I cant wait to get it back on and see what else i can squeeze out, i didnt feel like swinging the cams that night and since heatsoak was ever present, i said **** it. i need to talk to people about timing adjustment and swinging the cams too. (CTR cams by the way)

Dyno Sheet
Red is Before Tuning
Blue is After Tuning
Ok, it was only the 1/8th mile, but hey, thats were you learn to launch. This was the first time racing it as RHD let alone racing the R on the track ever. First 5 or so runs i missed 3rd. I think i missed 2nd once. once i went 1-2-mis-mis-mis-5th. that sucked. Last 2 passes i got about as clean a run as was going to happen. i couldnt hook for **** on the track, always spun through 2nd. last 2 runs the tire pressure was at 17 and i still spun 2nd to 7000rpms.

Track was Northeast Dragway in Hertford NC. Their water pit has a trench you cannot get around to get to the burnout box, it sucked, got the tires wet everytime. they use a .5 tree.
EDIT - Oh yeah, car wieghs 2380 without me, im 160lbs = 2540

2nd to last run
RT - .923
60' - 2.226
330 - 6.199
1/8 - 9.407
MPH - 77.532

Last Run
RT - .671
60' - 2.264
330 - 6.116
1/8 - 9.251
MPH - 79.082

wow those before and after curves are pretty nice

I find it interesting your car seems to like to run rich. When I had mine tuned it seemed to like it when I leaned it out.

i let it sit for 20 minutes before the last pull, engine temp probly yielded the higher numbers. When i retune, i might get some more out if i take some more fuel out. we'll see

EDIT - thanks for the compliment. Im learning. hopefully, i can get better and better

Were those times from tonight??

Couldnt that humidity have been raping you too??? I mean its humid as **** here in NC right now...

And how many lbs did you lose going to those seats?? Any clue??

And whats up with all the 1/8 mile tracks out here in NC, its unreal. Its actually hard to find a 1/4 track...

Nice dyno numbers for sure!!

yeah, those are from tonight. humity could have factored in too.
dont know how much i have really taken off the teg as i got it as a bare shell anyways.
i know this much:
-no abs lines or brain, or wiring (96 spec JDM ITR wire harnesses)
-no rear seats (got some ITRs but sold them with intent to go CDN red or JDM yellow stich)
-no airbags
-Sparco wheel
-hollowed out ac black box under dash
-No ac lines whatsoever
-no spare tire (have the jack though)
-jdm front bumper support/front end
-stupid metal brackets all over the car that hold wires or tranny and **** like that are all off
-header is lighter than cast manifold
-bonze shift linkage

that sounds like all the lighter wieght stuff, what is stock itr weight?

yeah, 1/8 is popular it seems. supposedly the new 1/8th in Nags head has an option for a 1/4 add on soon. i heard they are going to open it.

thanks for the comments

EDIT - OH YEAH, i also have the USDM LS cluster, its lighter than ITR (no 9000rpm)

wow, as i am putting the exhaust back on i look at my shift linkage and see if i can find another reason why the shifter feels so loose. i thought it was the bitch pin getting worn out after 10 times on and off. well i was wrong, you know the 2 bolts that have circle heads and 10mm nuts that hold the shifter to the linkage? well one bolt was gone, and the other was barely on. the last time i changed it was when i put the Bronze linkage in. thank god it stayed on.

i was wondering why i was missing gears so much.
im happy again!!!

guess so

Im in NC right now at the Slam Session showing the car and trying to get some races going on, but no one wants to race, i had this guy in a TA be like, "no i only race v-8s, thats how we do down here." I told him i would even give him the break. he said no. haha

Those trap speeds are pretty low for that kind of power and low weight. I'd think you'd easily be in the low 80's (82mph would be about right) even in bad conditions.

I'm sure they'll go up once you get used to driving it though. Good luck.
