Default Rear 1/4 panel window weather trim???

do you have to remove the rear 1/4 panel windows to put new trim on/around?

from what i can tell the trim is just for visual/cosmetic purposes it doesn't really keep water out,

how about for the front windshield? would the windshield have to come out?

thanks in advance

Usually the window guys will cut the trim and pop the window out. and if you buy the new trim they add some high intensity silicone around the body/trim and pop the new window in...and viola no more leak....

This is post 666.......Awesome.

my 1/4 panel window is new and intact nor does it leak. however i do not have the black trim piece around it so obviously the trim is just for cosmetic purposes. you stated that the "window guys" will cut the trim, pop out the old window and put the new trim on.... however my question was do i have to remove the window again to put the new trim piece on?

thanks for any help

unfortunatley yes. B/c the 1/4 window makes contact with a lip on the inside and the trim piece is cut to sit on the lip and make contact on both the inside and out of the window. The extra "cosmetic" purpose you are talking about...i know what you mena it's the the length of the trim from the lip---> that gives it that classic look. So yes they will have to pop out that 1/4 window and replace the trim so to speak. Sorry to give you the news homie. Good luck and hope they don't crack your window.
