fastest gsr?
When working at an acura dealer as a lot attendant I was told the 95 gsr is the fastest out of all the gsr's. I don't remember why this was, but 3 mechanics told me this. is this true? I wouldn't imagine it would be much faster. Plus all gsr's 170hp, except for the 92-93s at 160hp.....any input?
heard the same thing...somebody told me that it had something to do with a different fuel injection system...but ive like 3 different people have told me the same thing
well from experience I can say that I feel the 1994-95GSR engines feel really strong; I had a 1995GSR engine in my old Integra and that thing ran really strong, I personally prefer those years but now with the 2001 engine I got in my teg now I think they all run about the same cause this one feels like it would run just as strong as my old 95 if not stronger if it had the same mods. As far as the entire car themselfs I forgot where I read up on it but the 1992-93GSR's (1.7) are slightly quicker than the 94-2001GSR; Im guessing its because the 1.7L GSR has slightly better gearing but I think the 94-2001GSR beats it up top.
does anyone know the quarter mile times for a stock 92-93 gsr? i know 3rd gens run between 15.3 and 15.6, with results being different in different magazines ive read. ive only found one mag with a review for a 92 gsr, and it says 16.1
Here's what I heard...The 95 gsr was stronger because of the obd1. Before 96, the cpu were differente in each car and like the chip, it was made for that car (GSR). In other word, each car has a cpu developped for it's own purpuse. After 96 honda join the other Co. with the obd2 wich is universal... But this theory is not from me... Is it true?? I don't no...
For the 92-93 gsr, I would really doubt that these were faster than the 94-01... It has really low torques... It pushed 160hp@7600 and 117lb-ft@7000...agains 170/7600 and 128/6200... The weight was about the same... but maybe with the gearing like the second generation of type R. These last one (00-01) have better gearing then first gen (97-99) so they are about half a second faster (14.8) over 1st gen (15.3)
But again, I haven't built typeR so that what I read but i'm a fanatik of car stats...
I also heard that you need 1hp for every 10 pound you add to keep the same performance in the same car...

Early model GSRs (94-95) are believed to be the quickest. Car and Driver tested a 94 GSR 0-60 time of 6.5 seconds and 15.1ish 1/4 mile times when the car debuted in 1993 as a 94 model. The last test of that generation (Car and Driver) was in 1999 in a 1999 model year car. 0-60: 7.2 sec 1/4 mile 15.7 @90. Of course these tests were under differents conditions, different drivers, yada, yada.....
i had a 92 gsr... it was f'in fast! i smoked every other gsr with bolt - ons cuz thats all i had... i just sold it for 1000 bux and got a 98 gsr... much slower but newer and looks alot better
but yeah the 92-93 gsr's are DEFINATELY faster .. they are much lighter and even though they are rated at 160hp they ROMP. VTEC kicks in at (single stage) 5600 rpm's and your gone!.

I didn't look this up, but im not sure about 92-93's being lighter...I thought i looked this up before cuz i thought the same thing and they were pretty close..
wow, with so many different opinions, we should have a shoutout with a stock 92-93 gsr and a 94-95, so we can find out for sure which one is fastest. same track, same day, etc. the only problem is... finding bone stock gsr's, especially a 92-93, theyre extremely rare period.
92-93 GSR has the b17 and its quarter mile time is 15.1
94-01 GSR has the b18c and its quarter mile time is 15.5
The reason being that the gen 2 integra is the lightest.
obd1 and obd2 GSR's are the same except for some extra emmission testing equiptment. There is no difference in the car's quarter mile time either because if anyhting, it was a driver inconsistency. Depends on the miles on the car as the track conditions.

The g2 gsr is not that much lighter then the 94-95 intergra's, 2653 vs 2667... its true the g2 has better gearing to make up a little for the torque difference, but over all the the 94-95 were a little quicker..
I'm an old timer and back in the day when my buddy and I would race (stock 92 vs stock 94 - gsr's) he'd usually get me by a bumper or more... this being back in 94 before the rice age
(hardly any stock gsr's now with <10k on the clock)
Where the 94/95 (and 92/93) performs better than the 96+ is when it's modified cause its OBD1 is not a restrictive a OBD2
94-95>92-93>96+ GSR
