The car is back together and read y to go for the first day at the track tomorrow at 5 i just installed a jdm dohc ZC


the car is very very hard to start... . it did not alarm me too much when i first fired it up as i thought it was ust because it had not ran in years.. . . .i primned the engine well before firing it... and changed the oil in it twice so far.. to clean it all out. . .


HERES THE SYMPTOMS... . it will crank over and it seems like it is firing sometimes and sometimes not.... as soon as it fires you have to let off of the starter as the starter seems to cancel it out from running.. it will crank crank crank crank crank crank fire fire crank crank pft pft pft crank crank crank crank fire crank crank ......ECT
it slike it gets spark sometimes but not all and only to what ever cyls it feels like
if you sit there with a batt charger on it and crank and crank you can get it to start its ususally is flooded by then.... I am thinking something in the dizzy but not sure... .i changed the cap with a new one that i had here rotor looks good.... using a timing light i checked and it seems to get random spark pulses to the plugs.... the plugs are not new but decent... . when it is finally started it runs GREAT

tongith i am going to take the ignitor out of my a6 dizzy which i just bought new from dizzy king and the coil and see what happens.... also it will crank over easy and then hard... like when you have no spark and combustion the motor just freewheels i guess it might be firing at the wrong time and be trying to crank the engine backwards in fact while cranking sometimes with the cam cover off you can actually SEE the engine turning over one way and firing then it will switch directions and rotate the other way.... crazy stuff !!!1 if i did not know better i would say that the firing order is off.... but when it runs it is sooo snappy and runs soo well. . even once it is up to temp if you shut it off it is the same 10 minute struggle to get it going agian ... .i checked the cam timing and it is right on... dont know what to do.... i am running it on a chipped pr4 computer i had it in my 4 door civic and it would rev to 8000 and it ran flawless

I really want to run tomorrow it is double points night and everyone that came down that races with me was scared when they heard the car. . . I think i will do really well with it if i can get it to start. .
