I was bored the other day, and i did a google search, and i came across a few websites that will import Honda's of any shape and size.

I was looking at a few Type R's(DC2 Body style)right hand drive and everything, you know 100% JDM.

And the cost of the car itself was like 8K. I was kind of curious why it's so cheap, my only conclusion i drew from that was, that those cars aren't as big as they are over here in the states.

Also, an importing fee to the states was about 1200.

So, im thinking for about 10K, you could have a legit JDM-R.

Can you guys think of any draw backs to this, besides not being able to see the car.

Any input would be appreciated.

i dont know but imight be wrong ,i have always heard when a car comes complete they aleays turn it back,emission reasons.so the only way i heard u can a get car oover here is by transporting engine only or shoppoing car in half,i dont know if thats true but thats what i have heard.thats why they only sell front clips outhere.
or maybe your lucky and they will accept the car in the port that it gets deliverd too...

 

No you can get them imported...its just it takes forever and once it gets here..they do have some crazy fees you have to pay..I'm also looking to do the same..Itr2the3rdgen What site were you looking at?

Go to the ITR forum, there is at least one guy that has done this. If i remeber right he had more issues with the RHD then he did with emmisons or anything else
