Might get an old honda, is this a deal?
Those are some of the best oldskool bikes you can get
Great bike to learn on. My pop still has a 70s CB750 in excellent condition.

Shitty part about the whole thing is.. the chassis is not up to the newer, stickier compound tires. You'll be limited to traction and be in for a hairy ride if you're planning to do any spirited riding. Looks facking pimp tho

the honda CBs of that era are some of the best motorcycles made at that time. the SOHC inline 4 is a great motor. just make sure if you pick one up that you will probably have to put some decent time into getting it to run right. most of those bikes havent been run much in the last 30 years so youre probably looking at rebuilding the carbs, new battery, timing and points setting/gapping. not a big deal, just make sure youre up to it. it might need new tires and maybe brake pads. dont want to skimp on those, they will keep you safe on the road. but if youre into tooling around with the bike, then i think youll have a fun, inexpensive ride.
thanks for the input guys.. I really know nothing about bikes, but i know I want an old honda. Probably just city street use on nice days.... I guess a pilot at work owns it maybe i'll offer him 300 or trade some paintings!
My pops bike still runs cherry with the factory points system. He replaced them when he got the bike a few years ago.
However, they do sell a capacitive discharge setup for around $140 (if i remember).

looks sweet ... looks pretty similar to my 83' Suzuki GS650 that we're restoring. They're a TANK and dont have all that much get up on em, but they're still fun.
I waited to long..... I called him last night and he sold it over the weekend for $450.
I don't think I would have spent that much anyways....
If and when I get one I will make a thread, thanks for all the info

awww....too bad it's gone, I have a '73 CB350F. It's a blast just to tool around on! Although trying to find the 4-4 exhaust is not going very well.

your too far away from WI ... haha thanks.
Well those auctions are out of my cheapo budget now...
However I can get a 1978 Suzuki GS 550 for FREE, from a old co-worker.
He said it runs and looks good.....
So my dilema is that I really wanted an old honda to work on..... but how can I pass on a free bike that runs?

I'm a sucker for a dirt cheap bike too. Keep in mind, most times it ends up cheaper to spend more on something in better shape.
