Default Launching at 7k Rpm on 20 inch Slicks and bogging through 1st

i took my car to the track and i put about 12 PSI in the 20 inch mickey thompson slicks and was launching at about 4-5k rpms which is what i was doing on normal street tires but i was extremely bogging... so i went higher and higher but i just couldnt seem to get the ***** to leave the line at more than 7k. At 7k it would hook and leave the line like a bat out of hell but then bog down to about 4200-4400 rpms...I was thinking that leaving the line at 8k or 8200 would be perfect right in vtec but man is that scary dont want to break anything....need more tire pressure?

Ran 14.4 in 97 Coupe with JDM GS-R swap weighed in at 2650 i/h/e/ecu

you gotta have em spin like once or twice, then it will rocket to redline, and drop once you get traction......THEN BAM, redline again <---- this is your shiftpoint.

i know when you see the first redline, you think to shift then, but your tires are actually spinning, you need to wait it out.

( at least this was my first experience on slicks )

just practice, maybe one or two runs, hit the revlimiter to make sure that what i am telling you is what is truely happening to your car.

15psi. Launch at redline. In an old LS/VTEC setup of mine that I had stock LS Rods CTR pistons w/ a GS-R head (only put down like 176whp up here) I used a P72 ECU and I would just take it up to 8100rpm and just BANG it off the rev limiter. I got the amount of spin I wanted and alway got consistant 1.8 sec 60' times with M&H 20 inchers. Even at 7000rpm I'm sure it would bog down to like 4500 or 5000rpm.
