Default piston to wall clearance

Is anyone familiar with the piston to wall clearance of the toda b-series pistons, donf or others please chime in with your experience as well. Also does .02 to .03mm sound right for the proper clearance, this is what i have been told by toda, but that only works out to just over a thousanths of a inch of clearance, let me know!!

If you have a micrometer and can measure the cam and taper of the pistons I can help you.

I know Omni says that Toda's reccommend clearances are too tight.

Toda recommends 0.001", I called them to verify when I installed their pistons. They said that the material that the pistons are made with does not expand much. I went with 0.002", just to be safe.

well its bored to .0011" of clearance right now, thanks for chiming in when I need. The recommended clearances do seem a bit tight and I have called and confirmed a few times my self. They recommend .02-.03MM not inches. They are in conglomeration with honda which makes me think that they use something along the same lines as honda in their pistons. If you will check, hondas clearances are just about the same, real small like that. I was just kind of wondering if it would hurt to put another hone on it just for good measure. I would rather have enough room than too little, I dont want to tear this thing back apart after I put it in the car. .02 works out to .000778" which is skinnier than a sheet of paper. So I was thinking, the clearance should atleast be .04MM or .00157, which is just more than what Toda claims to be enough clearance. All who know something, chime in with advice.

i talked to the machine shop and they said that the bore was stock spec for that piston, right where it should have been, but since one of my pistons cracked while trying to remove it from a oe rod, I have purchased the tried and trued srp's so i can run those crappy gappy clearances. anyhow, bump for this man some answers
