Water leak in 97 Accord LX sedan
My dad has a 97 accord and every time is rains hard, the carpet and padding under and behind the drivers seat gets soaked. There is no water around the inside of the window or door. You can't see where water could be coming in. He has had the moisture curtain in the drivers side doors replaced, but it still happens. He even had all the padding under the carpets replaced to get rid of the moldy smell, but the water found its way back in the car. Anybody have any experience with this? My dad wants to turn the car over to my little brothers but doesn't want them to have a moldy car. Thanks in advance
I would look at your firewall for what they call drain plugs to ensure that they are intact and in place. Worst case get some silicone and fill the holes.
If someone at a shop jacked it up in the wrong spot, he could have put a hole or rip in the floor. This happened to me with my first car 12 years ago. I would look underneath for any visible damage.

man... My 95 has been doing this for a while. I have no clue where it's coming in. I've pulled the wipers and all the plastic fascading around them off. Sat there with a hose and it won't leak, but if it's outside in a big storm, it leaks.
It's not a hole in the floor...
I should have inspected everything when I had the motor out :-/
Sorry no help, but definitely feel your pain

thanks for all the replies...
-There is no visible hole under the car, but i'll have him look again.
-It wouldn't be a windshield or firewall leak because it is behind the driver's seat.

you could rip all the carpet out next time its about to rain and drive it around in the rain storm to see where the leak is coming from. i know it sounds like too much but since you have a failed to find the leak its kinda a last resort, check all the weatherstripping.
I agree, its most likely a weatherstripping somewhere has gone bad. My dad's car had a broken one and when it rained his car would get all soaked inside. Hes too lazy to fix it and Im too busy so his car is gonna be a lost cause.
Thanks guys, i might have to check that out. He just bought himself a nice new black TL, so this car is going to my brothers right away.
