97 Honda accord Wheel studs Question?
I have a 97 honda accord and my front left wheel stud broke off. I am currently drivng the car with three studs but would like to replace the other one. i calle dhonda and they said that it would cost me $5 for the lug nut and stud but cost $130 for the labor. I want to do this in my back yard but need to know if i need to do anything special like pressing the hub. If someone could answer this real quick that would be great. thanks
when I replaced my wheel studs on my 95 EX, I was replacing the rotors as well so it was easy to remove all the studs and press in new ones since I had the hub removed. I have been told though, that you can remove the caliper and caliper bracket and then you should have room to pop the old stud out the back with a pumch and a hammer and then place the new one back it. Then you can place a few washers on the stud and put your lug nut on and tighten it down. That should pull the stud all the way into place.
oh thanks cause at first when honda told me how much it cost they said that I would need a press to put a stud on. I didn't think I did so thank you for the info. By the way how long do you think it will take for me to put it on?

If you've never done it before, probably a good part of the day.
