Default I had a blonde moment the other day

I went riding the other day with a bunch of friends (about 8-10) and we all met up at a friend;s house. Someone fixed my clock for me while we were there bc i never did the daylights savings thing... ANyways, we all headed out and went out to some nice twisties near the poconos. We were heading into a 25mph rated turn and i looked down to check the speed (normally enter at about 60mph, and accelerate from there). My speedo said something like 110mph!! i KNEW they werent taking this turn that fast & the rpms werent high enough for 3rd gear either, so i was all confused. It was at night too... long story short we get back to the gas station and i look down to see the km/h icon on my speedo! lol.. i thought my speed sensor was bad, but i was just a dumbass. When the kid fixed my clock, he also accidentally set it to km. It through off my whole ride. It's just wierd to me how much i rely on the speedo to judge turns besides looking at it etc...

It's a really bad habit to rely on your speedo for your entry speed.

You can set the speedo to km on a bike? Can all newer sportbikes (01+) do that? Haha. that's cool!

+1

You shouldnt be relying on what the recommended yellow sign says either(i.e=25mph means you can take it at 60). You shouldnt ride any road hard until you know the road.

On roads i dont know, i take the yellow sign and add 10. Thats usually what I turn at Unless its like a 15 or if theres been alot of gravel, than i just slow the F down.

Most track schools have u tape up your speedo. Its just gonna get you in trouble. Whats up with the twisties at night? Asking for trouble, not just visability wise but thats when all the critters come out.

It's just less of a distraction if it is taped up. Fontana does not require that you tape up your speedo, but they suggest it. I went my first session with it untaped..............my second session out I taped it all up. I ended up being to concerned about speed and was missing my braking markers and just screwing up my entry to turns in general.

Another funny kph story...
My pop told me one time when he was a kid, him and a bunch of friends had gone
to canada to drink/whatever. Some airhead friend of his was speeding like crazy.
After they started telling him to slow the **** down, he was like "look at the speed
limit. Look how fast i can go".
