$3500....what to do?
alright guys....ive got about $3500 to spend on my car and ive got a couple ideas that im thinking about. ive almost always been an all motor guy but let me know what would be possible with the amount of money i have....or i could save some more. so here are some ideas that i've had....
i currently have a 92 si with 157k miles
1) jdm h22 motor swap with either crower, webcam, or skunk2 cams when they come out
2) rebuild this motor completely and throw on a custom turbo
3) stuff in a jdm h23 vtec, which is obdII since it started production in 2000 and make it work with my obdI car
let me know what you guys would do. and NO, nos is not an option.

at first i was gonna say turbo but then i saw 150k+ miles.. i personally wouldnt feel that it would be that reliable. but the gains with a turbo would be much more than a h22a swap.
I doubt that you could do a complete engine rebuild and get a turbo for $3500. I would rebuild the engine for turbo and start piecing together a turbo with the left over money.

Go with turbo...dont swap. Start with buying new internals - pistons, rods, etc. If you are hurting for cash after all this, buy an old Garret t4 Turbine (ball bearings, but not the best turbo out there) and do everything custom. It'll take you awhile to tweak, but you'll learn a hell of a lot about it and it'll be worth it in the end, power and money wise.
i must've been on crack when i read that the first time " nos is not an option " ok
rebuilding the block is probably the best thing to do right now, then save for turbo

You should definitely sell it dude. 157K miles ? Yeah sell. The $$ you get from that and that $3500 will definitely put a nice huge down payment on something with less miles. New project cars always rule!

, or i like the 3500 jumbo jacks, if you shipped those overnite, would they be ok to eat?
