Default Identifying USDM ITR header?

What (if any) markings on the header tell me if it is a Type R? My friend gave me one but I'm not sure if it is or not. Not a big deal...just one of those things.

Thanks

Here's mine...I'll check to see what mine is labeled with when I get home...

btw, does anyone know what that bracket piece is for? (rusty piece on my stock manifold there that's leaning against the brick) I can't figure out what it's for...

the stock, cast iron exhaust manifolds are really heavy so there's a few brackets that bolt on to various places for support...

most aftermarket SS headers are so light that those braces/brackets are not necessary

the number on the casting is not that big of a deal. as long as the lower 1/2 looks like the one in the picture... it is a UDSM ITR header.

Exactly. As far as I could tell when I compared a couple of B-series upper manifold sections to the ITR piece, they're all identical. The only real difference is in the lower section.

It is supposedly a higher-flowing design.

Look for the shield covering the bottom section near the collector.

Yep, I measured the diameters of the holes, spacing, length, width blah blah all the basic measurements compared to a stock GSR upper cast exhaust manifold and they were identical. I ended up cleaning it up and using it since the prev owner stripped out the upper heatsheild bolts while returning to stock.

The difference is in the lower half of the exhaust manifold.
