Brand new track. Chinese riders in 125cc and 250cc. Interesting race(s), no?

Lemme just say that when China does anything on a global scale, they never fail to impress.
BTW, China's export agreement was about 5 or 7% increase per year but they broke the international agreement by increasing exports by more than 400%. I wonder what's happening right now. No more cheap **** for us is what's gonna happen.

Yeah. Imagine if they start demanding Yuan instead of dollars in their international trade transactions. Yikes!!!
(assuming they take the yuan off the dollar standard, of course)

No coincidence. Shongzen is trying to emulate Honda's path to success in the 50's, and their motoGP effort is being done the same way Honda's racing efforts started.

THANKS
How was it btw?</TD></TR></TABLE>
Mmmm, an inspiring ride from a wild card and signs of life from the Suzuki program. Not much slicing and dicing though.

Man, I was <U>supposed</U> to be at that race
Looked like attendance was very sparse. I don't think China is quite ready for MotoGP. The circuit was sold out last year for the inaugural F1 event - I was there
Too bad KRJR had a mechanical problem; looked like he would've contended for a win.
Jacque - who would've thunk it? That was an amazing ride.
It looked like they were surfing the first few laps, but at least they do run in the wet

I was going to order them from the Shanghai Circuit, just like I did with the F1 tickets last year. I have friends over there that could take delivery of the tickets, so that I didn't need to pay for Express Mail shipping to the US.
The weather may have been a slight factor, but the circuit looked like it was almost empty except for the main grandstand, and even that looked like it was maybe half full.
It'll be interesting to see what attendance at the F1 race will be like this fall; last year, there was definitely a novelty factor at play, being the inaugural race and all.

So are you saying that racing in Shanghai might not be worth the $250Million spent on building the track? Because MotoGP/Dorna signed a 7-year contract with the Shanghai International Circuit (SIC) and i'm sure the novelty will have worn off by then.

No, not saying that at all. The guy that owns the Circuit has money to burn, plus he scored so much political clout for 1) building this facility, and more importantly 2) snagging the F1 race, that it's paid off for him many times over.
All I'm saying is that F1 has a much bigger following over there than MotoGP.
