Watching the BMP race, it irked me that one announcer would say "do-ha-mul" and the other kept saying "do-uh-mel".

I wanna go!!
Anybody see the times at Daytona tire test? It goes to show how awesomely fierce the new liter bikes really are.. right off the showroom floor.
Superbike
Ben Spies Suzuki 1:39.701
Mat Mladin Suzuki 1:40.309
Neil Hodgson Ducati 1:40.711
Aaron Yates Suzuki 1:40.820
Miguel Duhamel Honda 1:40.987
Superstock
Jason DiSalvo Yamaha 1:40.816
Damon Buckmaster Yamaha 1:41.363
Tommy Hayden Kawasaki 1:41.820
Notice Jason DiSalvo's time on the Superstock R1.. it's quicker than Aaron Yates and Miguel Duhamel.. on their Superbikes!
So if you ever see a newb wanting to get a new 1K.. tell him that it's a pro race bike without the stickers. And here's the proof.

OH MAN!!! hahaha do i have a story for you guys......so i went to pic up my tix for sunday..practice sessions were going on and the parking lot was pretty empty..
for those of you who have been to California Speedway know that you enter the facility, then head down a long straight.....at the end, it curves to the left and banks back to the right and into another long straight alongside the 1/4 mile strip....
well you had to ride all thru this to buy the tix on the other end of the facility...on my way back (i was with 2 other unknown riders/bikes)....we're about 50 yards from where that banking is before we head out....ALL of a sudden there's this big black object sliding around the corner and damn near right at us!!! (insert Jimbo's "It's coming right for us!")
we all slam on the brakes just in time to see a brand new '05 raven R1 do olympic floor gymnastic routines across the 4 lanes, up a curb and into a chain link fence, with plastics flying EVERYWHERE and the rider tumbling after it......
i had never seen something like that in person, HOLY ****! it was like slow motion..the bike slid for a second before the asphalt grabbed it and started flipping it end over end.......after making sure the guy was alright (he had full leathers)...i looked at the damage....the front end was GONE..i could've walked around the area and gathered enough parts to build a custom R1 front end for my gixxer.....his c/f Arrow exhausts were cracked and bent, aiming all over the place....both rims were bent, tires flat.....tail section was hanging on by wires (from his power commander)
the dude said the bike just stepped out on him, but the rate of speed the bike was sliding/flipping said otherwise...he HAD to of been doing 60+ in the parking lot easy...OH WELL, you live and you learn...whats weird is the guy was like 35-ish...you'd think he'd be responsible enough to keep control over the throttle in a contained area like that..
but BOY, that poor bike....i've never seen an R1 my 600 could actually beat in a race, guess there's a first time for everything.
when we first stopped, one of the dudes that was in my group of 3 hopped off his bike all pissed..."what the **** bro!" "if it was 20 seconds later you would've taken us all out"
i didnt even think about that till he said it...after he calmed down he apologized for being upset, but at least everyone was understanding of each other's situation....glad it was 20 seconds EARLIER than late

That's a good idea. Since they won't be anywhere near the podium, you guys should be able to see and maybe even meet some of the riders.

WTF is up with the honda boys in the liter class.....someone needs to bring there A-game.
Ben Spies has shown to be quite impressive to say the least, its fun watching a young guy chase down the veteran Neil Hodgson.

From the sounds of it their attempt to develop a superbike kit to sell to privateers is causing them major headaches in trying to be competitive this year. I'm not even sure who is running what now (Honda of America, HRC, Honda of Japan?).

uhhhh yeah something about clutch failure or something...but today with a healthy bike he won by how much??? not to mention, did he get pole for BOTH of those races?
OH WAIT...he's gotten pole EVERY rd. so far
and all 3 gixxers take the podium????
what happened to EVERYONE else, not just the honda crew....even Bostrom beat the Honda boys today. I felt bad for Duhamel (not like he was contending for 1st or anything)...but he was running back in about 7th place when he went down and dropped to last place..that guy has skill thats for sure..he came back to finish 12th i believe
OH, and those 2 laps on the track made my day (they had 2 "fan appreciation" laps for $10....broken into 3 diff. groups...man is that track smooth and the front straight was nice flying @ 130
..my bro was in the stands and he said when i gunned it down the straight i looked like a moped compared to the pro bikes hhahaha

Well what the hell is the deal, they were competative last year. Did the bike see some big changes or what?

American Honda decided to develp their own bikes instead of letting HRC do it as they have in the past. Wasn't such a great idea

LOL! I know I know.
I have to take shots whenever the opportunity arises (cause it ain't often). I know MM and Suzuki have dominated the past few years and will continue to do so until someone catches up with the mighty GSXR1000. The sheer power of that bike is unbelievable. I mean passing Hodgeson and the rest of the DEEP talent pool out there on the banked straight was just insane, and on the first lap at that.
To bad for Neal blowing through turn 1 on the last lap on day 1. Ducati would have probably liked to be one of the only other MFG's on that top podium (or it seems like any podium) position this year.

they had a suzuki owners' lap, but they opened it to everyone else earlier for a $10 fee....you got 2 laps that were SUPPOSED to be paced by paramedic units...that lasted 1 lap before everyone just went nuts and flew around them popping wheelies n draggin knees hahahahhahaha
