Default picked up a 00 ITR shell....

i just recently purchased a 00 ITR shell and i was wondering what you guys (that have restored R's before) think?

here are some pics of the R at the auction i bought it from.

closing thoughts, i just wanted to add the SOBs that stole this caR did a very damn good job of taking EVERYTHING (5 lug, engine, interior, etc.)

oh well i think i will make a worth while project

ill try to keep you guys updated as much as possible

Well, at least no body and frame damage (from the looks of it).

First step could be JDM front, after all you do need all those peices anyway.

Oh and and the ABS is still there

i was debating between JDM front and the USDM front, but majority of the peeps here i asked (R haters) said the JDM front was gay
and to go with the USDM front. lol. what do you guys have to say about which one would be the better pick of the two?

Under normal circumstances, I would say keep it USDM, but man, it would be so easy to do JDM right now, I say go for it. I always liked PY with JDM front.

(That is if you are keeping it PY)

I'm interested in the price as well. I'm thinking about picking up a shell for a restoration project maybe by the end of this year.

I'm just hoping I can find a shell for about 25% of what I sold mine for.

let me give you the best advice possible. find a JDM type R in japan and have it's parts shipped here. it will be THOUSANDS cheaper than it would be trying to find all USDM parts, and you will have the "upgraded" and "super cool" JDM parts. trust me, it's a very worthwhile investment.

my dad has a friend that has a dealer license, so i had my dads friend buy the caR for us under his account. the caR was on a auction that began at 100$! no joke! so i put a couple of bids on it, and so did this other guy in NC that kept on jacking the price on me in the end the total was.......$1500! i was like oh my gentle Jesus!

by the way the auction was Copart

The parts alone shouldn't take up very much space on a container, and even so the price for stuff like this in Japan is minimal as compared to the US. Even after shipping you're looking at dropping maybe half of what it would cost to track down everything here in the US.

daammmn that sounds like a plan for the most part does anyone know any reputable companies that could locate and ship ITR parts to the United states? because i was thinking of just getting everything that i might need from LKQ salvage yards or passwordjdm. what do you guys think on the shipping of ITR parts from JDM land
