I got one for my friends Protege 5, it's great for small jobs, just print the pages you need, but for a big job where it tells you to jump to section 4 then 8 then 11 (whatever) it sucks - having a printed book is so much easier, just flip to the page you need and it's there in front of you. my $0.02

I have the PDF version, its liek 1500 pages. I really want to buy the actual book but its liek 70 dollars, but its alot easier to have a manual right next to you when your out under your car instead of having to run in and out my room to look at the comp screen

Get the real thing. It will pay for itself on your first repair. The PDF ones are garbage and not worth it, trust me.

One reason Haynes is weak is they are afraid of getting sued. In order to get the dash out you have to mess with the airbags. If you **** up and the airbag deploys you are looking at $$$ and some dumbass lawyer will sue Haynes for telling you to do it. Same thing with A/C service.

you are somewhat correct. haynes do the book this way is not because they are sissy and they can't do it. the book is more gear toward people that are less skilled in automotive field, someone that want to fix a couple of thing here and there.(i don't see why an average joe would want to take apart all his dash just to prep his daily driver to a drag monster)

haynes is filling the market niche just fine, think of the mini-ipod, yes there's less memory when comparing to ipod but does it mean it's useless/weaksauce/POS? as soon as apple figure out there's a market niche for mini, they put that sucker out.

with helms, they present the info to you as if you are trained and have the proper tools and knowledge. They are expensive but not that expensive if you do use it.
