Default Painting Valve Cover_ PCV valve question

Quick question.
I am ready to repaint my valve-cover (oem wrinkle black).
The engine that I have is an OBDII b18b1. Which has a PCV-valve comming out of the middle of the cover.
I found a OBDI b18b valve cover laying around in my garage which I'd like to use while I'm painting my cover. These dont have the PCV-valve on the cover.
Two questions:
1) Is it a bad idea to run without a pcv-valve for... one day tops. Hopefully I wont need to drive at all, but I am always on-call, and may need to drive.
2) Are there any suprise differences in these two covers. Upon examining them, they look good; but I wanted to get another opinion from you guys before I start taking sh*t apart.

The PCV just takes blow off gases and puts it back in the intale manifold to be burnt and exited out the exhuast. I wouldn't recommend it because stuff can get in there.

If I pulled it, I would temporarily plug the line so nothing could be sucked in.
Is this a bad idea to do for a day.

anyone else?

Your idle will be pretty low when you do this and tends to accelerate like a slush box. There is prolly a lot of people that don't take care of there cars and do regular tune ups (sounds like my sisters EG. They are most likely running with a bad pcv valve so it would prolly be o.k. for a day.
