Default 7.06 @ 97.5mph in the 1/8 = ?? in 1/4?

Just like the topic title. Someone told me that should be good for high 10s in the 1/4. What do you guys think this translates to? I'd just go to a 1/4 and find out, but the closest one is 130 or so miles away, and I dont want to pay AAA to bring me home if something "unfortunate" should happen. lol.

Also, what time in the 1/8 is approximatly a 9.99 in the 1/4? I've been told 6.20s?

Thanks!

Thanks!

depends on how much your car picks up in the back half. I know on my 11.75 pass i had a 97mph 1/8th mile time, so that got me to 117mph. Although with running the low boost i was, my car wasn't picking up that much in 4th.

Also, the last time i went to clay city, i clocked it at 99 miles away from louisville. So my AAA gold covers me there. might have to do the drop off at edge of town and then pick up the following day or something. Although clay city isn't the greatest condition track, the back 1/8th is bumpy as ****, its still the closes 1/4 mile i know of.

I was actually thinking about beech bend when I mentioned the track... I tend to forget about clay city.

My car doesnt hit full boost until redline in 2nd gear according to dataloges.

ps: hows it looking on you making ovis2?

I know a guy with a GSX that runs 9.50 @99 in the 1/8th and that gives him some 11.40's @122mph. Another friend in a civic that runs 7.1@104 in the 1/8th and 11.10@131 in the 1/4 so i would say depending on your top end anywhere from mid to low 11's @122+mph.

As long as you complete the run at the same rate you started, your run would be a low 11 second run at 125mph or so.

what size turbo you got strapped down to that little guy?

I think i should be at OVIS 2, i hope to have the new tranny in by then too, but hopefully fabrication should be nearing completion this week. the damn countershaft bearing is stuck in my donor tranny, so i'm considering welding something to it to pull it out. that or throw the entire bellhousing in my freezer.

I figure it will take a week or two to get the bugs worked out with the new setup, so i'm sure it will be at OVIS, no clue if it will run what i want it to. might still be on pump gas for it and then throw in race gas and kick up the boost down the line.

t3t4 .54cold/.63hot, stg3 IIRC. Its been several years since I bought the turbo...
There is also the highly likely possibility that the "eaten up" compressor wheel slows spool up a good bit. (no air filter = bad idea...lesson hard learned when I first got the turbo)

1st gear, as you can see from the vid's on 502 last all of like 2 seconds, so no chance there and the 7lb flywheel plus short *** gearing (4.10 final gear) make 2nd go by so fast it doesnt have a chance to reach 22psi until about 6900rpm's

The turbo makes MUCH more reasonable boost in 3rd and 4th gear.

Reason I ask this is I'm wondering if I can eek a high 10 out of it when I finally *do* go to a 1/4 track

side note: watching the video of the run, I think I can improve on the 60ft a bit. 1.50 instead of 1.55 perhaps?

If not 10's it's really close. Usually w/ that 1/8 mile time it takes over a 100 and a gain of 30 to get 10's.

those are 60fts that I'm wanting to get to this year in my FWD

last year 1.68, this year......I'm hoping the limit straps and extra power help me get out of the hole good this year.

i know alot of guys run low 7s and can get a 10 sec 1/4, but they have a powerhouse 4th gear, so really only way to tell is to go to a 1/4 mile. I'm sure a car wars should be coming up soon. IE Chris wallace always ran like a 7.01 in the 1/8th but cut 10.7s in his integra back in the day.

I think the difference is the teg would come alive the back 1/8th mile where as the miata is making it up the 1st 1/8th.

anyone happen to know what tranny he ran? b16 or GSR? I would assume GSR, as that's what the block was, but no clue.

either way, i'm hoping my shorter gear tranny helps me accelerate in the 1/8th and my 9500 redline allows me to stay in 4th in the 1/4.
