Fuel Cell mounting questions (of course I searched)
I have a 93 Civic that I'm building up for the Pro Stock class and I have a few questions regarding the cell.
I'm considering a 3 or 5 gallon tank, however, where do I mount it? The front of the car or near the stock location? Does one have a benefit over the other? Is one more safe than the other?
If I mount in the stock location, do I mount the tank in the car and route the lines down and under or does the tank have to be under the car (or at least the feed/return).
If I mount it in the engine bay, I read some where that I have to have a 1.25" tube around the cell. Where can I find the specifics of this?
Lastly, if anyone has any pictures of theirs installed, I would greatly appreciate it if they could post them up.
Thanks!
Steve

Tanks: When permitted by class regulations, fuel tanks located
outside body and/or frame must be enclosed in a steel tube frame
constructed of minimum 1 1/4-inch O.D. x .065-inch chrome moly
or .118-inch mild-steel tubing. All fuel tanks must be isolated from
the driver’s compartment by a firewall, completely sealed to
prevent any fuel from entering the driver’s compartment. All fuel
tanks must have a pressure cap and be vented outside of car
body. A positive-locking screw-on fuel-tank cap is mandatory on all
cars. Insulated fuel tanks prohibited. When used, fuel cells must
have a metal box protecting the part of the fuel cell that is outside
of body lines or trunk floor, excluding hose-connection area in rear.
Non-metallic fuel cells or tanks must be grounded to frame.
heres the specifics i think your looking for if mounted in the engine bay. hope thats what your looking for.

Maybe got for a 1 or 2 gallon tank...it will fit better. 1 gallon will be plenty of fuel for dyno or track use. If you mount the tank inside the framerails under the hood...u dont have to run a bar around it. There is room to mount it sorta where the stock battery location is if you go with a 1 gallon tank.
If it goes in the hatch area I'm assuming the way they're made that they have to actually be cut into the floor and not mounted on it.
