Default MSD digital 6

quick question since i dont know the answer i thought someone might know. my friend is lending me his MSD digital 6 and i wasnt sure if i needed a tach adapter for this to work on my factory tach. anyone know?? thanx

I 3rd that Dustin, what is your tach signal coming from now? You're running Hondata or something similar aren't you? If you're running it off the factory ICM signal just leave it. If you're on a points wire, move it over to the white points on the Digi6.

thanks everyone. i just didnt want to get into that whole thing wired up and find out i need a tach adapter.

adam, im running socketed P28 currently.

just curious since i posted this a couple days ago. have any of you guys had problems with aftermarket ignitions frying the stock honda coils??? or are u guys just buying a external coil at the same time?

External same time. After a while, yes the stock coil will go out.

If you do not want to spend a **** load of cash for an HVC coil, go with the MSD-8207 coil.

External. Heard that the MSD fries igniters too, but have not experienced it...yet

Of all the MSD setups I've ever worked with, I've only seen 2 ignitors go bad. I wouldn't be too worried about them...
