Default stock clutch or exedy oem replacement

Its about time I get a new clutch. This is a 89 civic SI, and will only be seeing bolt on upgrades. Should I buy a honda clutch and pressure plate, or just buy one of those execy kits on ebay for $100 bucks?

Those exedy clutches seem to be good quality. Haven't heard of any complaint. I sold one to a friend and it's been holding up awesome

....yes he races it.

Heres what i did, I've got an 89 si. Bought a Act prolite flywheel for 90+ clutch , and Exedy Oem replacement clutch for 92+. The 90+ cltuch is slightly bigger than the 89 which is a gain in itself, and the exedy clutch is supposed to have like a 33% gain over stock. I love the combo, grips pretty damn good. We'll see how it holds up when i'm boosted in the next few weeks. Good luck!

most OEM honda clutchs are made by Exedy.. your buying the same exact product, OEM or exedy
if your running 25% more power then stock.. i'd recommend the exedy stage 1 organic..

i've run a OEM Replacement Exedy and i'm currentally rocking a Exedy Stage 1 on my CRX, great quality clutches. I have 2 different friends that rock them on their Type-Rs and I know people that have had great results with them even on a turboed car... they get a big from me

I definately need a CLutch.. Those Clutches i see on Ebay the " Exedy " clutch. for like 75-85.00 are they worthy to buy. Kinda looked wierd being so Cheap. Any input on that? I'll wait to buy... until i get a response. Also if you bought one from Ebay. What was the Seller's Name?

Yup. Exedy is the aftermarket brand name Daikin uses. I've been using them for about 5-6 years on various Hondas of mine, and had no problems with them at all. And when you open up the Exedy box, you'll see the Daikin logo on the parts.
