Best Tires for the Street on a High Whp Car
On a 300whp turbo car, what kinda of tires would you guys run
Ok, run for dayily driver? about 40 miles a day
And what tires would be best to drive out to the local street races or the track at with?
I had some Nitto 555R's before and i wasn't a big fan of them.
Thanks
Im looking for a slick like tire that is street legel, but is almost slicks, i might buy like 4 rims and run 2 set of tires, one for the street and the other for race

The G forces i have herd good things about, but i want like almost a slick

Track tires (R compound tires) have some significant disadvantages for street use: they wear fast, they're generally poor on wet pavement (some are worse than others), and they don't give much warning when they're about to lose grip. The Yokohama A032R, the Advan A048, the Hoosier Radial Wet, and the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup shown in the previous post are track tires. They're great for track use, but I wouldn't choose them for the street, unless you're willing to accept these downsides.
For the street, what about getting the best street tires out there? Tires like the Bridgestone S-03, Michelin Pilot Sport PS2, Goodyear F1 GS-D3, and Falken Azenis RT-615...

Some track tires, like the three shown in this post, come from the manufacturer with only two circumferential grooves as their tread pattern. Others, including the Toyo RA-1 and the Kumho VictoRacer, have a more conventional-looking tread pattern, but as they wear, the lateral grooves wear out first, and then you can only see a few circumferential grooves.

The Tire Rack tested the Fuzion ZRi against the Avon Tech M500 and the Yokohama ES100. Based on that test (and the similar price), I would guess that the Fuzion ZRi is more of a "budget performance" type tire - good at "bang for the buck" like the ES100, but not as good in overall performance as the best street tires out there (and, of course, not as expensive, either).
For a high horsepower car, particularly with occasional track use, I would go with something better (like one of the tires I mentioned in my previous post)...

currently i'm rolling on kumho mx. i don't even bother with street tires for the track, i run bf goodrich dr when i go there.. i'm able to have tractoin in 2nd with mx during summer, my main concern is traction when ever i punch throttle so would i make a mistake by getting fuzion tires?

I haven't seen a side-by-side test of those two tires against each other. But for the best traction, my money would be on the Kumho MX.
Of course, you could try the Fuzion ZRi and let us know...

it seems like it wouldn't be possible to outperform MX with ZRi's.. i coudl save more than $100, but thaat woudln't mean much if i loose performance.
my concern is the compound of ZRi's, they look darker than sO3's or MX, more like regular tire. MX and SO3's have AA traction rating while ZRi's have A, but thats based on braking.. after all BF Goodrich DR's have C rating for traction, meanwhile they have the best grip of all. Sidewall seems just as stiff, all have 51psi max pressure rating.

Do you guys get the Toyo R888?

Just got a set for my ITR - will post the results next week when fitted, a lot of my customers use them and rave about them..
The yoko parada spec II is also a great tyre

i will repeat..those M&H compounds or whatever the hell they are + bay area rains=no stopping power=you slamming into someones rear and ur turbo =go bye bye=no more 300 whp. the most you would be able to do is to push it through the broadway tunnel and have 1 man power or push it through TL and have all the crackheads sitting on the street looking at u like u are crazy. OR you could go push it through haight street and hang out with the white people that do as much drugs as the people on the sidewalks of TL. OR you can go on top of the broadway tunnel and push it down..that area is pretty steep.
get 2 sets of tires. a summer tire and a spring fall and winter tire.
