I think alot of us were wondering if this was a points race. Last year it wasnt but we heard in the pits it was going to be a points race? Anything NDRA would like to clear up. crewmember is my biatch!

 

Not sure on the points but it was not a points event last year. Last year they did have double payouts though. There was a **** load of people there last year.

 

Glenn confirmed today that it was indeed a points race......24K people there last year

When did they change it? It used to say "non-points race" on their website.

It isn't fair because some sportsman racers have committed to certain races by their sponsors, which are made according to what the different sanctioning bodies have posted at the beginning of the season. I didn't even hear about the change until this past weekend when Art told me.

 

That is why all you guys need to come to alabama.

Not sure when.......GSC was saying they heard Bobby announce it in Virginia while we were packing up. It does throw a monkey wrench in a lot of peoples plans.

I thought I heard that too but when I asked around everyone was telling me no that it wasnt a points race. hmm, I guess it is now.

 

Sorry for the confussion guys and girls.
As far as I know the event has never been listed as a no points event, but rather as a Sportsman event.
That event was added in January and nothing has been changed or added to the schedule since then.
Sorry for those who mis-understood the Sportsman race and the points, and made commitments to do other things. Lets hope it does not hurt your standing in the points if you are running for the Championship in 2005.

Well.....Im glad the New Turbo4 car will be ready for AL.......

I was told the track is real bad for High HP FWD cars...guys....be real careful...We are just gonna put 2 chutes on the back with pneumatic launchers for extra saftey on this car......

Not only will the new car be there so will Pickles and Nick Carrols HB...with more tire and more boost.....

This has been listed as a points race since like February, so why is this a surprise to everybody?????

 

I know that....its on my printout...but I was informed otherwise in recent weeks....by NOPI officials.

No we never told anyone that it was not a points race, just the condition of the track from last years race.
They say that a ton of repairs have been made, but according to teams that have tested there, it is just a little better than last year.
