Default Head Gasket

I just got a new head gasket form Honda for my B16 and want to know if I can take a layer off of the gasket to raise the compression?will it still be safe or just leave the gasket the way it is?

This can be done, but you have to be sure to do it correctly. When I have done it, I remove the center layer of the gasket and then re-rivet the two outer layer back together. Be sure to keep it clean and burr free and you should not have any issues. Just take your time Good luck

Why dont you just buy a high compression head gasket? I like the mugen one myself. Its 2-layers rather than 3, and its ridged around the cylinders to give a better seal.
