I was looking at a friends motor the other day and checking his ignition timing when I noticed his cam gear looked a little off. He has a 92 Z6 with an STR cam gear set at 0 (no adjustment). I need a pic of a Z6 motor from the side at TDC with a cam gear at 0 (preferably STR but any other brand will do) to check it by. The car runs fine and has no problems its just TDC looks off for some reason.

 

if you look at the lines that line up with the top of the block, and they seem to be off its cause they are. the exhaust side is just below the block line and the intake is just above. but the up mark should be pointing straight up. if you had your back cover on (the one that goes behind the cam gear) then you would notice that there is an arrow on the cover that points to the angled line (bottom left) on the cam gear. when those marks line up its TDC but if you dont have the cover there is no way to tell.
