Art “Arturbo” Ortiz announces http://www.importparts.com as title sponsor for the remainder of the 2005 race season.
Racing in the Turbo4/ SFWD class with the NDRA and NHRA drag racing associations, Art has been funding this car mostly out of pocket, and feeling the constraints of travel expenses as well as replacement parts. Having a company like importparts along for the ride will certainly ease some of those constraints.
Ben Huynh- General Manger for import parts was quoted as saying “"We at Importparts.com are very proud and privileged to sign Arturo Ortiz onto our team. He exemplifies all the great qualities inour industry: honesty, integrity, professionalism, and hard work."
Campaigning their 1998 Acura Integra in the T4/SFWD class to a personal best of 10.82 thus far has been a challenge. The car and driver are both new to the rigors of competition drag racing, and crew chief Chris Stein has done a formidable job to helping both become acclimated to their new surroundings. The car came off the trailer this year after having some of its components fabricated by Tony Palo, also from the state of Texas. After working out some gremlins associated with a new race car, the Arturbo team is well on its way to contending with some of the industries biggest and baddest names.
Importparts joins a growing list of sponsors in the T4/SFWD class, which is considered to be the class to watch in the years to come. Still with a grassroots feeling to it, many consider this to be the class to use as a stepping stone to the Pro Ranks.
Importparts joins ENDYN, SPC, Precision Turbo and Engine, EFI University, BDL Industries, and Arturbo.com as sponsors on the new car.
Art himself has said “"We are very excited to have Importparts.com as our sponsor for the 2005 season. We look forward to being at the front of the pack, and doing our jobs, supporting our sponsors”
