Just have to finish up with the hubs and knuckles, mount the brakes, mount the shifter linkages up, fill all the fluids, and wait for Hasport to send my harnesses back. Its a jdm b16a with the vtec shaved off the cover to help disguise it from the smog ***** here in CA. Anything i should check the first time I start it up?

Had to rice it up a little bit

Dude its a beater in every sense of the word (at the moment of course). I think im going to drive around and bask in its stockness for awhile, hoping people think the dohc vtec badge is a weak attempt at trying to be a typical CA Ricer- and then beating them into submission
My 2 boys playing nicely:

Another engine shot - Pre steam cleaning (i cant wait to do this, i LOVE clean engine bays!!)

Valve cover shot: (notice not a single trace of DOHC or VTEC

That looks really nice...A couple Q's if you dont mind. Did you repaint the valve cover? if so with what. Also, the steam cleaning... Do you rent something or do you have your own cleaner? The car looks really nice though...
very nice mang, love the shaved vtec, as for the steam cleaner i believe its just a spray, i used it on my ls longblock 2 weeks ago to get the grime off, u just buy it hose your engine bay, stay clear of all electricals, then just spary the steam cleaner on the block and any other place, once again staying away from the electricals, then just hose it off. works wonders.
valve cover is well done!
it'd be a great sleeper if you removed the sticker off the back...
about disguising it from the smog police... doesn't the sticker give it away and also the fact that they could look at the engine code?
I like how you kept it stock height and the stock alloys... I know i'd be thinking "WTF" if i lost to it.

I followed this procedure:
1) Remove valve cover from car, take off all gaskets
2) With coarse sanding disc, sanded off dohcvtecuteil it was completely smooth
3) With fine sanding disc, sanded out any imperfections, such as corrosion from the boat that it came over on, and any scratches.
4) Using a product called aircraft paint remover, completely stripped off all wrinkle-finish coating that was from the factory (you can also use 'jasco' but aircraft stuff works better)
5) Hot tanked valve cover to get everything off.
6) Applied paint evenly with about 5 coats of high temp semi gloss black.
7) With fine sanding disc polish the remaining letters out.

now your car looks like mine. but I can't seem to post them since I do not have a picture hosting account. Your engine bay turned out nicer than mine though, good job and the valve cover looks nice.
Also how did the valve cover look after taking all the paint off with the aircraft paint remover. thanks
