RSX Seats with Custom Welded brackets in my EM1 *56k instant death*
EDIT: Now before you go and pop off at the mouth and say some dumb **** about why dont you got no recaro's or mad jdm tyte bucket seats y0. I had recaro srd's I sold them to a member here cause I wasnt feelin them, and they were stock height at the lowest setting. The shoulder bolster sucked and the seat always moved. These seats cost me all of <FONT COLOR="red">350 plus the full rears</FONT> which I threw away. My recaro's cost me 1300 dollars... and any bride seat I want costs twice as much as these two seats. Any more stupid questions?Second I'd have to drill a new hole in my floor for an rsx seat, and third I had del sol seats and wanted to try something different.

Now where did I leave off.
After taking a grinder and grinding down the rivents and then hammering off the oem seat brackets I stick the pan of the seat in the car to see how it sits...
By repositioning the oem brackets essentially they'll fit in the car. However the rear will be lower than the front so the seats will sit at an angle...
The only way to remedy this is to fab your own brackets. I didnt write down a list of **** we used because a very nice and generous honda tech member by who's user name ill keep a secret <FONT COLOR="blue">(we will call him Mr.V)</FONT> so people dont go pm'ing him for seat brackets lol. Was nice enough to invite me over to his house after simply just requesting to help me get the rivets off since I was sawing them by hand.
He tried a jigsaw... got pretty much where I was, then tried grinding the rivets down... Anyway im getting off track.
here is the passenger seat free of all brackets... I bolted the stock pieces on the floor to reposition them for my chassis.
Here is Mr. V grinding down the seat rails
I dont know what kind of metal this is so dont ask, im assuming its steel. I dont know much about metal but it was pretty thick,
I dont know much about proper measuring to. Mr.V had an angle out and was doing a lot of measuring with an angle, that piece of steel should have a hole drilled in it for test fitting, and to figure out where to put the bends.
Here we have our metal bent, now just measuring how much if it we need to get the bracket to reach the rear.
The hole size is perfect for the oem bolts.
Here Mr. V chops off the unecessary metal off of the steel to use for later.
Now cleaning the surface of the metal and grinding it all down evenly after adding another hole to a new bracket.
The only fitting problems we had was the metal on the inner bracket up towards the front the metal was digging into the frame and the bracket wasnt sitting flush. To fix this a diagnal slash was put in the metal to help the brackets sit flush on the mounting points.
Make sure to wear goggles when cutting ****, and make sure to use a welding mask if you're going to be welding, and make sure to have milk with your oreo's because they're not that good in orange juice... all of this is vital.
At first I spent like 5 minutes looking at this like wtf how is this going to work. Mr. V explained what he had in store, as he asked I assisted him. The mad honda scientist, we had our own monster garage weekend. It was a neat learning experience for me. Most of us hate to let someone else do something to our cars, but there are just some things that are best left to other people. Welding and custom fabrication is DEFINATELY not my field of expertise.
I must own a drill press when I get a house... I dont know why but godamn if that was not something very handy to have!!!

Looking good. Mr. V cut the excess metal that was covering the mounting holes for the brackets... a lot of this was carefully done. I must've taken a picture like every other 20-30 minutes that gone by lol it felt like.
Now we bolted down both sets of brackets lined everything up and made sure it was all snug and dandy and Mr. V is going to put some SPOT welds with his trusty mig welder on my brackets.
phew done... now lets take them out and finish up the welds.
Put your mask on if you're gonna watch, this is gonna hurt your eyes if you dont.
I had the mask on the whole time I took these pics lol, a lot were of his feet LOL.
GIT ER DONE!!!
Sure they're not the prettiest welds to some of you super pro's out there but they were consistant and solid, and thats what counts.

Here is one seat bracket done... both the inside and the outside recieved welds...
The seat height isnt all that bad actually, just looks like I have two stuffed animals in my car now.
Seat brackets finished and covered with Hammer Finish Rustoleum... kinda looks gunmetal grey, pretty nice actually. Since we scratched the **** out of the seat sliders and the slider bar I decided to paint all of that with the rustoleum.
Seats pushed all of the way back. can barely touch the clutch pedal.
seats all the way to the front for my aZn designated drivers =P
All in all this was one of the most awesome encounters I've ever experienced with any other member of any other internet message board ever. This person was very outgoing and in return he asked that I deliver a message to everyone you puts in seats from another car in theirs and jig rigs brackets for them to fit but they're not safe, or only puts like 2 bolts in.
He said to let you guys know.

LOL... that was all he wanted in return, but im definately gonna take this guy out for dinner anywhere he wants, he totally deserves it...

so... I tried to get my del sol seats back from my bro, the day I go to pick them up he made his own adaptor brackets for them to fit in his accord.
SO... I saw these seats and they looked pretty comfy, and ive seen countless people TRY to put these in but with no luck or jig rigged so. I like a challenge, I know you'd probably like to see some brides in my car or something jdm fresh, but im a simple guy. I like to try something different with my car all of the time.

great write up , but it does seem like a lot just for some RSX seats...wouldn't you maybe prefered some buckets or something? i dunno, just my .02

I think they're awesome, they're roomy they hold me when eating a turn unlike my ex seats which made me totally lack confidence in turning hard.
and the next time you tell some newbie to use a search to find out the answer to their question... see where I had to start off due to previous people pulling this off.
