Default Espelir JGT-500, or other JDM Exhaust Question

Anyone...

Is this exhaust USDM or JDM length?

I'm looking for a JDM length exhaust and I need one ASAP, like by this weekend.

If anyone has ANY information about JDM length exhaust, let me know as soon as possible, either through here or on PM.

Need to buy one ASAP, have funds.

Help.

the exhaust doenst determine the lenght of the exhaust, the cat. does. most honda b-pipes are the same

the cat. is what makes the difference. thats why if you have a gsr swap in a 92-95 civic and you run the stock header you have to have the gsr cat. to bolt up to the civic piping.

That's what I was saying, I have a Spoon header and JDM cat waiting to go on, so I needed an exhaust with a longer b pipe, but I just opted for the JGT-500, and will extend the pipe a few inches. I hope it isn't TOO loud, espescially on the freeway. kinda scared.

You should be scared, especially since you live in Mission Viejo.

I used to live there, and used to live in Irvine. Because those cities are one of the safest cities in the US, cops have nothing to do but pull over loud exhaust cars.

no, all 92-00 civic b-pipes are the same lenght...you need to have a cat that will be long enough for it...you dont need to modify the exhaust

modify the cat, not the b-pipe

If this is the case, how would ANY Japanese Civic Type R's be capable of having a cat-back exhaust system put on them?

Exactly.

you dont see what im talking about

the cat on every model is different..the b-pipes are the same

a shorter header will mean a longer cat

a longer header will mean a shorter cat

you see where im coming from?

BTW only the b-pipes are the same...the axle backs are all different also

Doesnt' make sense... companies like Spoon and Mugen that make headers for the Civic Type R are all made to the same length specs, thus, if you got an aftermarket header, you would have to switch to a usdm cat? No way in hell.

ok you are contradicting yourself

if they make the header to bolt up to a jdm header. and the spoon header is "jdm length" then all you have to do it use your jdm cat. like you said you are. and you shouldnt have any problems

No, the headers aren't different length. There is no USDM nor JDM length for a header.

ok the b-pipes are going to be the same on any cat-back exhuast you will buy...

a ITR/LS header (USDM) is shorter than the GSR header. thats why the ITR/LS uses a longer cat. and the SiR header is also shorter than then GSR header, and it uses a longer cat.

all headers aren't the same lenght, and all cats. aren't the same lenght...thats why you get the cat. that goes with the header

with the 96 civic hatch my dc jdm header bolted right up to my exhaust with no cat and no test pipe. i bet if i had to use a cat i would have had to get a b16 header.

on my 92 hatch my JDM DC required a test pipe.

well there you go, not all b pipes are the same. I can vouch for this, because with the exhaust i JUST got done installing today, the b pipe connected straight up to the header as well. No more arguing, I found an exhaust that I liked, which is why i made this thread in the first place. Not to talk argue about the length of b pipes.
