I used a screw driver and a gator grip. make sure you put some cloth or something so that you will not scratch them.

I've heard that using two of these rubber strap wrenches works.



They're fairly cheap...and I use mine to loosen my oil filter.

It's called a spanner wrench. Many companies make them, applications should be rather universal such as the one leadfoot posted.

Use the right tool for the right job.

are most of you guys using coilovers like omni's were they say you need pre-load?

It really has nothing to do with preload. Notice how on coilovers the perches have groves? Those are for spanner wrenches. Granted often times you can move them by hand but if your coilover uses locking perches or has an adjustable length body, then you need spanner wrenches to properly tighten/loosen them.
