Body Work prep and questions
I am going to tackle this problem on my own.
I am going to repair some honda cancer with fiberglass + bondo and then get the whole car resprayed either the same color or another. I want to pay the least amount of cash, and do most of the work myself (if i can), but still make it look great. I am pretty experienced with this kind of stuff, and i have quite a bit of patience.
I do have many questions however:
1. Before paint, do i just sand the whole car down with like 200-400 grit sand paper?
2. Do u have to strip the paint?
3. mask/remove all the stuff you dont wantpainted on?
Rust:
Grind down with metal wheel?
Then do I,
cut out all rust, hit with hammer to push it in a little bit, put on some Rust converter, put fiberglass cloth/resin mix on top, bondo
then:
sand
Primer the area
sand
At this point, is the bondo ok to be left out in the air, or should i just paint on it, so it doesn't corrode/crack... Are there any special precauctions to paint over bondo/fiberglass?
Pics of the rust:

EDIT: I tried to repair this a while ago, with some bondo (wrong kind of putty) and i did a half *** job and now its crackd

for a proper repair cut the rust out and weld in a new piece of metal.
prep and paint it.
dont forget to seal and paint behind the repair or the rust will come back

sell your wheels
have a body shop do it
if your cars not worth the money - then why waste the time
when you get it back give the underside a healthy coating of hurculiner

If you dont cut out the rust and weld in new metal - it's only going to come back eventually. If you fix it do once and do it right.
You could most likely wetsand the car with 600 grit sandpaper if the paint is just faded/oxidized. You don't really have to strip the paint unless there is like a sick amount of paint layers on the car.
Props to taking on the project yourself - no easy task by far! Good luck!

i dont want to weld it, and i dont underdstand why it would come back if i cut it all o ut and fiberglassed it. Id also put rust protectant paint all on the inside too
