Default CRX Brake conversion NEED HELP

Need to know every part I will need to convert the drum brakes to disc brakes on my 1988 CRX HF. Please remember its an HF. I had to change to SI calipers on the front just to be able to use brembo drilled rotors. I really need stopping power, I will be running a turbo B16.

Ok, I hate to break it to you but Autozone blanks work as well in our applications as Brembo, and drilling your brakes brings them that one bit closer to failure. If you want stopping power,
1) Stainless Steel Lines
2) 15/16" EX Master Cylinder
3) Big Brake Conversion - For those of us who have DX/SI knuckles which you will have to change to anyways for the B-Series axles.
4) Rear Disc Swap
5) 4040 Proportioning Valve
6) High Performance tires, not the $30 Wal-Mart special.

I'll have to disagree with you as far as the rotors. I noticed a huge difference in stopping power when I put on the brembos with ebc greenstuff pads. It cut my stopping distance way down. not only that I can hardly lock up the brakes. I tried as a joke with my friend in the car and we both just flew forward toward the windshield and the tires never made a sound. yes we had seatbelts on and they locked on us.

my rear disc didnt do all that much either, mostly did it because my parking brake sucked. but im glad to see some people are considering stopping their hondas and not just making them go.

88crxhfb16, how do you know it wasn't because of the pads?

Wouldn't your tires lose traction more readily if you actually were increasing the friction of your brakes? The energy has to be converted somehow and if you have the same tires and different brakes, then I would venture to guess that the EBC pads are actually not stopping you quicker and that they are probably decreasing the immediate load on your tires and letting them handle it more gradually. Meaning, the pad/rotor combo is not stopping you more quickly. Maybe your stopping distance is smaller since you aren't losing your traction and sliding I guess... sorta like ABS?

If you can lock the tires up during hard braking, then you don't need more brakes unless you are doing something like racing on a roadcourse (not SCCA cone-chasing). The increase in rotor size and the need for better friction media really stem from the high heat that is created when you apply the brakes as much as is required when road racing etc. There is more mass to take absorb and disperse the heat and also the increased diameter adds to the amount of torque that can be applied to the wheels. The tires will actually make more difference in your stopping ability right away. When your tires are so efficient that you can not make your wheels lock, you may need to switch to better brakes.
