Default How do body shops fill in/ cover side molding holes?

I was planning on doing this myself if it does'nt require to much expertise. For you fellow H-T people that have shaved side moldings, do you know how the body shop filled the holes with?

i would go get some fiberglass to fill in the back of the holes and let that dry then sand the front of the holes down to the metal then use bondo on the holes. If you DONT use fiberglass on the holes and you slam your door your bondo could POP out! i would try this. also i would cut a piece of wood the shape of the flat part of your molding... this would make it a lot easier on your hands. hope this helps

fill them with weld and grind the weld down..then use a skim coat of body filler to fill any holes or imperfections..the factory uses diffrent door skins..bodyshops would either weld them shut or fill them with fiber/glass bondo...but that method dosent last forever

True, if he can't weld it. I know most body shops weld in the hole and use a little body filler then sand.
