Funny starting issues... searched but couldn't find an answer. Suggestions?
This started happening probably about 6 months ago...
Many times when I go to start my car here's what it does:
I turn the key - nothing happens for about 1-2 seconds and then the starter starts cranking... it then takes about 5 cranks to actually get started.
When it's cold it cranks over on the first kick but when it's warm it takes at least 5+ cranks to get started...
I'm thinking that my starter is starting to go out or something. It really shouldn't take 5 cranks for my car to start. Is there a way I can test my starter to see if it is the problem or not?
Any other suggestions as to what the problem might be? I think it's really weird that when I turn the key nothing happens for a few seconds and then the starter randomly starts cranking... what could the problem be?

Sounds like starter or ignition coil (I could be wrong bout the ignition coil...bump for more suggestions)
Sounds to me like the starter solenoid is dying. That it pauses after turning the key should mean that's the failure.
Can you replace solenoids seperate from the starters on Hondas though. That I don't know. The old big block V8s I grew up with could be, but that means nuttin'...
