so the problem i ran into today was, i was driving on the frizway when all of the sudden this **** beside me wanted to get in my lane...you know it wouldn't have been a problem but there was someone already infront of me...anyway -> the guy infront of me brakes...the guy in the lane beside me tries to get in the lane we're in and then brakes infront of me...then i'm the last to react so i break (pretty damn hard too). anyway i get going again and i can't get above 90kph without the steering wheel shaking like crazy so i get off at the next exit, check the wheels and make sure they're tight...then i realize there is smoke coming off of my front left callaper...first reaction "******* *******", look closer, it looks like the brake pad is completely gone and my callaper is locked up...second reaction "that ******* douche bag that had to get in my lane"...

so then, i get home and check it out some more *DO NOT TOUCH THE ROTOR=burns and bad smell...

i was planning on getting an all new break kit for the car since it is 14 years old. so i was looking into big break kits with new callapers and everything new, but i can't find anything...

if anyone knows a place to get a big break kit for a 91 crx si let me know, thanks

Get some DA front brakes. They're mo' bigger. There are some good threads in this forum concerning brake swaps.

it wasn't smoking when i touched it...that would've been stupid...i let it sit for about 45-60 min and i wanted to make sure i didn't burn my self...but, it was still hot...

just so you know i did a search on big break kits for a crx here on h-t and all that showed up was things breaking, things that were big, and kits (body kits)...no big break kits.
