Giles gets what he wants and doesn't even get to enjoy it....
Went to the Jim STark double at Roebling this past weekend to crew for a couple of buddies driving in GT1 and SPO and noticed a change from the norm as far as run groups are concerned:
ITB, ITC, SSB, and SSC ran with Production and SPU, and Wreck Miata got their own run group. I don't know if this was the result of Scott's requests to the region for such a change in run groups, or if it was just the result of way too many cars in one group, but never-the-less the result seemed to be a great situation as the ITB and ITC cars seemed to mesh really well with the Prod cars. The amount of bent metal in the class was very minimal as far as I could tell.

Trust me. I've already heard about it.
The ITB/ITC guys report that they had ALOT more fun and much better racing with no contact anywhere. Oddly enough, word got out before the event that this was going to happen and the ITB/ITC numbers were better than any other race so far this year.
Go figure...
Not sure if this is going to be the future as it was just the decision of one region, but its certainly a GREAT sign.
Seems like it worked out for everyone, as expected.
Scott, who says theres no perfect solution for anything but this seems to be a good one.
PS - I haven't seen the official results, but I'm betting the fast ITC and ITB cars pretty much beat up on the majority of F through H Prod, eliminating the "Prod is too fast to run with ITC" argument.

Yup. One SPU (a mini-stocker) won overall both days, followed on Saturday by 2 E Prod cars, an F Prod Spitfire, and then a cople of ITB cars. 90% of the Prod entries and 90% if the ITB and ITC cars seemed to be mixed all together. Production as a whole certainly wasn't faster as a group. Sunday was even more homogenous as the top 5 overall IIRC were SPU, EP, ITB, FP, and ITB. This method of arranging the run groups seems to make a lot more sense than sticking you guys with SM. The Prod guys actually had cars to race against for a change, and ITB/C guys had someone to race against who actually cared about not wrecking themselves!
The only negative of the whole weekend is I gained exactly 0% clarity in the struggle to decide what car I want to have for next year, and if anything became more confused.
Edit: spelling ownz me.
