Default CMP Spectators

Need a bit of help here, I'm making my first trip down to CMP this weekend to cover the ECHC race (for the HC website and Grassroots) and I'd like to find out the good photo spots that are accessible to spectators. Here is a map for reference:

Planning this stuff in advance will be a big advantage for me. Places for good head-on shots are always welcomed. Thanks for the help, the ECHC appreciates it.

CMP = sux for photos

The fence along the edge (parallel to the track from T13 to T14 is where you can get some pan shots with some head on's from T12 towards T13.

The fence just ahead of T14 is a good spot (cars are going fairly slow thru that turn).

If you could ask and get into the area that the fire/rescue sits (between T10 and start-finish (near the cut thru)) you could get some head on's from the cars heading towards T10 and T1.

Everything from T3 to T9 is a wasteland for photos.

:shrugg:
Good luck... you will need it. j/k

Looking forward to seeing your pix from the weekend.

You need a place to crash Sunday night? Or are you heading back norf?

Basically. There was some talk of CMP putting in some bleachers at one time. Not sure what happened with that. It has been 2 years since I have been up there.

From the paddock, the 1-3 turn complex and turn 14 are about the only photo spots.

NASA has been very open to allowing pics from the worker buckets. This is your best bet methinks.

If you have "press" credentials, you can take pictures from anywhere you want.

Brain,
IF you can get into the middle of the track are where EV is usually station, you can get some pretty good phots, of the passing that happnes coming out of 7 and going into 11 as well as the front strech action.
