head room.....
well, i've run into an interesting dilemma. i happen to be kind of a tall lanky bastard, and i have pretty much zero head room sitting in my teg. getting into auto x, i find that it's a real b*tch to wear a helmet without slouching down or leaning right to catch an extra inch or so from the sunroof (haha, bad idea). does anyone have reccomendations on a decent seat that would put me lower in the car? thanks for any help

Any racing seat with a custom seat bracket will lower your body a couple of inches. I ended up having to cut the rear seat mounts out of my CRX and fabricate a new seat mount to get lower enough in the car to give me adequate head room!
I don't think you will need to be that drastic, but like I said, a decent racing seat and custom seat bracket will work wonders!

I had the same problem and I got DelSol seats. That lowers you about an inch, which was enough to fix the problem for me. Main problem is that it, knocks you out of stock class in autocross. Nice thing about DelSol seats is that the rails from the Integra seats bolt right up to them, so you keep the stock adjusters. You can usually find them for sale for around $200-$300 for a pair.

As a tall, lanky bastard myself (who now drives a Miata and formerly drove a 240sx), one pretty easy trick, if you want to keep the seats for either appearance or class reasons, is to open up the seat cover (which is held on by hog rings) and shave the foam inside. It is a relatively easy way to get an inch or so of room w/o taking drastics steps. If you do it properly, the seat doesn't really feel much different either (except that the bolsters seem slightly larger b/c you're sitting in a hole). I sewed mine back up w/ zipties, but you can get new rings if you're concerned.
