Honestly? Stock. Aftermarket ones blow too much IMO. I have gone through more sets than I can count.

I rather have stock bulbs than having blue tint bulbs.

PIAA super plasma or super whites.... the light is very clean and no rice boy blue tint. they have a purple/white tint to them, they are about $50. But if you've got the cash just get the phillips HID conversion kit, or if you got a little to spend try the Catz Zeta kit.. it will be brighter, but not HID.

piaa....they are worth the money. I have had alot of bulbs(piaas and cheap knockoffs) the piaas lasted just as long as any stock bulb i've ever had plus they look very good; no blue tint to them. I like the H.I.D. look the best, they were super bright, it was like driving in the day!

I'm selling H4 Koito Whitebeam bulbs that would fit your Civic. Koito actually makes all the OEM lighting for Honda/Acura and their bulbs are top notch. Better than PIAA in my opinion, and they cost less. goto http://www.shopatmackin.com and look at their prices. I'm selling the same bulbs, all brand new for HALF the price. IM me or e-mail ITR1321@mail.streetracing.org if you want to try them. Here's a pic of the H4 Whitebeam bulb that I'm selling:
Pure white light with a slight purplish-blue tint. No ricey *** blue-green light output.

With an H4 HID upgrade, you lose high beams. So you only have the low beams (albeit they are much brighter). A good way to go about getting HID's for a Civic is to buy a dual beam projector light assembly. And get HID for the low beams.

This is a good idea.....HOWEVER....I have heard that many of the cheap brand Civic projectors have very bad housings and can melt with the high heat of HID's and even regular upgraded bulbs like the 9000 series over the H series. This is only what I hear though.

Actually, HID lighting produces LESS heat than convential halogen lighting. Also they draw less power. So the chances of anything melting is remote.

Stick with stock. Aftermarket bulbs don't give you any extra vision, they just change the color temp so it looks like it does.
