HPDE Event at VIR this weekend.
Just thought I would put up some info about the Mid-Atlantic Alfa Romeo/VSCCA track weekend at VIR North this weekend. This event was open to Intermediate and Advanced drivers only, but I received an email this week stating that they were going to open up the event to novices also.
If anyone wants to get thier feet wet and have a fun and laid back track weekend, this is it. Plus you get to share the track with the VSCCA cars. The VSCCA runs pretty much the oldest cars of any vintage group. Usually there is a real lotus 11, 18s, etc. along with some lotus 6s and 7s. A friend of mine races some old Saabs and there are plenty of other cool cars to take in. Dinner is included on Sat. night also.
Another perk is that the Ferrari Club is usually using the other end of the track. Last year there was an Enzo, an F-40, and several Lambos there.
The contact info can be found here if anyone is interested in going. http://track-events.mid-atlantic-aroc.com/ I am pretty certain that there are several Novice spots open, and most likely some Intermediate/Advanced spots open. There has not been an official list published yet, but there are usually openings up to the end. Oh, and hurry...it's only a week away.
