92 Prelude AC Compressor? Where do I put the oil in?
Hey all,
I am about to refill my AC with freon. Before I do that, I need to know where the compressor oil goes.
The problem with my AC was the compressor so I bought another. I noticed that when I pulled the compressor out and put it in a box, oil leaked out of it. The new compressor that I got does not have oil in it.
Any ideas what kind of oil I need to use, how much, and where it goes??
Thanks,
Andy

on page 22-35 (of the helms) it says to measure the oil that comes out of the "old" compressor subtract that amount from 120cc (4Floz) and that will give you the amount you should drain from the "new" compressor. apparently you drain thru the suction fitting. (so perhaps yoru new compressor does have oil?)... it doesn't really say where to "add oil" perhaps that can also be done thru the suction fitting (what goes out must also go in, if it's oriented correctly) but hey don't take my word for it (; heh.
Use sp-10: p/n 38899-p13-003 oil for r134a sanden spiral type compressors only.
hope this helps atleast a lil.

Wow, thanks for the info!!
Yeah, the oil leaked out of my old compressor pretty easily. I tried to get it to drain out of the newer one I put in but that didn't work. Nothing came out.
