OBD1 H22 into 96 Accord EX -- Distributor wiring woes!
Ok heres the deal. The accord dizzy has a different connrector (triangle type shape) and far fewer wires than the h22 dizzy. I have done b series hybrid swaps and have no problem re-pinning there, but it doesn't seem possible here. I searched and found that some people said to use a b20 dizzy, some people said to use a 96-97 LX harness. I am not willing to do either. I KNOW there must be a way to do it, but short of running wires directly from the ECU I don't know what to try!
How have you guys overcome this? Its the *only* thing holding me back right now.

Yeah, I would probably do that. He has a conversion harness though and I just wanted to avoid it if at all possible to keep it mint.

lol, my conversion harness is hacked to ****...mainly b/c i installed my vafc into it though, and then everything that i had to straight wire into the engine...but yea, i wouldn't worry about keeping the harness mint, b/c you'll have to cut it anyways for everything you have to add into it...

I just like to do stuff as clean as possible, because I know I won't always be around to fix things if a connection does go bad etc. and I hate chasing down electrical problems, too!
But yeah, I am going to wire directly to it where it should be on an obd2 ecu and try to keep the harness as clean as I can.. I will obviously also have to wire in knock and AIB's, no big deal.
All in all, the wiring on this swap was a lot more intensive than I thought. What'd you do for the PS pump? I want to braize it, but I have no way of getting it to school where I could do that.
Any other little tips at all before I try and fire it up?

i'm running without power steering and ac...but i did try to get the ps to work, but failed...i've heard that a 97+ bracket will fit the accord p/s pump, enabling you to just use the accord p/s line...

I would have just taken off the hardline and tig welded or braized them in class tomorrow morning, but I couldn't get the nut on the hard-line to budge!
What'd you do to delete PS? I don't want to just pull the belt, I'd like to do it right. Is it difficult to drive that boat? I don't have PS on my gutted '92 hatch, but thats a much lighter car.
If I didn't mention it, I'm doing this swap for a friend, so its extremely important to me that I do it right.

Wow! Spent today working on it, this swap is much more difficult IMO than a B into a civic. Still not sure what I'm going to do about PS, and the plug wires he bought were too short. But man... there is a lot lot lot of work to get this thing right.
in the past we take the prelude ps hose, cut the hard line on the rack end and use an appropiate sized compression fitting to rejoin the cut prelude hose to the existing accord hardline on the rack. the racks are different so u cant just use one hose.... the pumps are diff as well so just use the bracket and pump from the lude. DONT CUT THE HOSE ON THE PUMP SIDE. there is a liner inside the hose to prevent the pressure from pushing the hose out of the crimp, if u cut the hose this will be defeated and the hose will be ruined.
as far as a/c just use the stock accord bracket and pump it all bolts right up.

just use the accord ps pump and line and get a 97+ lude bracket. then if ur using the h22 crank pully try to get either a 41" or 41.5" belt to go on that, and ps problem solved. And i believe there is a power steering motor that you'll be working against if you just get rid of the pump and that would be a bitch so there ya go, no cutting and welding required.
